Walking alone, one hand to shield his eyes from the sun, the other clenching the clasp of his shoulder bag at his side. Things seemed to be starting as how every year seemed to start. Nothing seemed to new, or different. Nothing to inflict surprise. Besides the year of fresh faces, and the loss of recent alumni, everything at Hogwarts- it almost fet as Severus had never left.

Lily took her free time to walk around the grounds, enjoying the fresh air. It had only been a few days since they had gotten back--since Lily and James had became an item. And she still hadn't told Severus. Wait--... Speak of the devil... Lily sped up slightly, walking behind Severus. She suddenly put her hands over his eyes. "Guess who?"

He flenched, then relaxed as he bent over slightly in the height difference. "...Um...Juliet?" he jokingly asked, not able to help but to smile a bit. She was all too cute, and exactly what he needed in his long boring morning.

He stood straight for a moment raising an eyebrow throwing in some acting. "...Romeo?" he asked, making his voice crack for effect of surprise.

"Prat," Lily rolled her eyes, releasing Severus. "Romeo and Juliet? How original."

"What, you've got something against William?" he asked as his smile returned, not yet looking back at her. He was surprised to be running into, or being sprung upon by Lily so early in the day. He actually didn't think he'd see her at all outside of class, and even then he knew she wouldn't be giving him a wave or start conversation. He knew he'd have to wait to be alone, like now, to actually be talking with her.

"No," Lily retorted. "Your friends don't know that you like Muggle literature, do they? They wouldn't like that..."

He rolled his eyes and after replied, "Well, in my defense eiiiither waaay, I blame my mother. Oh and um...friends?" obvously he was alone, if he had a friend to be with he certainly wouldn't be walking in the bright sun with no where to go. He still stood in their starting positions, just looking down over at the grass to the side, where a few lonely single weeds stuck up and leaned over the edge on the path they stood on.

"Oh, that's right. You have no friends. Forgot," She walked to the side of him, so she could see his face. "... if I were to tell you something... would you get... mad?"

He turned to face her completely, and smirked a bit out of sympathy for her serious tone. "Heh...well when you have to ask that, you can almost assume there's possibilities..." he teased quietly, facing her but his eyes glanced off to the side as he talked. "Um, heh, why? What did you want to tell me?" a pause, "You didn't kill any kittens, did you?"

"No!" She smacked his arm. "It's.... something bigger."

He held the attacked spot with his other hand and chuckled a bit. "Not a whole litter!" he teased one last time but quickly saved himself another beating. "Sorry, what is it, Lily?"

"Well... I'm kinda..." She started walking, wanting him to follow. ".. dating someone."

He began to do so, taking a step, but soon found himself frozen. After it'd sunk in just a little, "Why...w-why um...why would I be mad?" he swallowed. "I mean...it's...a...good thing. Yes?" trying to stay as blank and stonic as he could.
